Mussels
Why Mussels you ask? Great question. When North 45 began to take shape, we knew we were going to be a great pub, so we focused on all the beer, spirits, and wine. Somewhere along the way, we figured out that to be a great pub, we needed some great “pub grub”. Rather than go down the normal path of chicken wings, tater-tots and all the other bar food that seems so outdone in this town, we opted for something a little out of the norm that we could produce with a touch of class and a lot of flavor. So why not do Mussels and Fries (or Frites at our place). A collaberation of our Executive Chef, Bart Smith, and our New York friend and chef, Chris Hunter, In Season Bistro, resulted in our Mussel Menu. On any given day you’ll find seven to eight different mussel dishes all inspired by some amazing flavors of the world. House favorites include Coconut-Lemongrass, Cognac and Cream, and the Crispy Pancetta and Shallots. Of course, every mussel dish is paired with it’s own specially seasoned fries (curry, lime-chilli, or sea-salt to name a few. Feel free to ask our staff about their favorite and make sure to pair your mussels with a fabulous Belgian Beer.
